At Guidelight Group, we partner with you and your family to create a person-centered life plan, and then provide ongoing support to help you find and coordinate the services you need to achieve your dreams.
We specialize in working with transition-aged teens and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disability.

Guidelight Group offers a menu of services that allow us to customize our approach to meet the unique needs of each client. After your initial consultation, we will proceed with person-centered planning or a comprehensive intake evaluation and will then make recommendations as to the services and supports that will best meet your needs to help you achieve your goals.

Life coaching & coordination (our flagship service!)
Life Coaching & Coordination
Guidelight Group's flagship service, life coaching & coordination is a concierge-style service designed to respond to real life in real time and meet each individual’s and family’s unique needs. Life coaching & coordination offers a truly personalized experience through a flexible combination of the following types of support:

Individual Life Coaching – identifying and working toward personal goals, finding and/or creating meaningful opportunities for community participation, career exploration and advancement, creating and maintaining friendships and other relationships, building independent living skills, establishing effective routines and schedules, transitioning from the family home, or help with whatever else is going on in the client’s life.

Case Coordination – case management, service coordination and advocacy rolled into one comprehensive service to identify the ideal combination of supports and services, facilitate effective communication and collaboration across service providers, manage service providers and staff, coordinate scheduling and logistics, and ensure that the client’s needs are being met across all settings and services.

Parent or Caregiver Support – support and coaching for parents and caregivers as they plan, navigate and advocate on behalf of their loved one.
Person-Centered Planning
Person-centered planning is an ongoing process used to help individuals plan for their futures. Planning is done with the individual and his or her family, friends, and supporters (their "circle of support").
It is a process that allows you to dream big and imagine the best possible life for your loved one. With that dream in mind, we walk backwards to determine what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and who can help to make those dreams possible. The outcome of the process is a concrete and actionable plan to outline the steps and supports needed to achieve the stated goals.

We strongly recommend that clients who are new to Guidelight Group begin with person-centered planning.
Customized Employment
At Guidelight Group, we believe there is a job for everyone that wants one. Customized employment is a proven process that allows us to identify a client’s skills, talents, interests and preferences and then match them with an employment opportunity where they will be valued, included, and paid competitively. Once a client is employed, we stay involved help them keep and succeed in their job.
Customized employment services include:

Career Discovery – in-depth process to discover the client’s unique strengths, talents, skills, preferences, and passions and determine their ideal conditions of employment.

Job Development – market research, networking, informational interviews and on-site visits to potential employers to find a match for the client’s ideal conditions of employment; negotiating a customized job with the employer.

Job Coaching/Retention- on-site support for the client and the employer, including developing accommodations, training managers and co-workers as needed, and facilitating a positive and constructive employer-employee relationship.
Advocacy
Guidelight Group experts advocate for our clients to ensure they receive the services and supports that they are entitled to.

IPP Advocacy and Attendance – for transition-aged teen and adult clients and their families requiring support and advocacy while securing services through the regional center.

4731 Complaints – drafting of 4731 complaints for allegations of regional center rights violations.

Transition IEP Advocacy and Attendance – for transition-aged high school students and their families requiring support and advocacy for transition-planning in the IEP.
