We are looking for a highly motivated Client Coach & Independent Facilitator with a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and their families to achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in supporting teens and adults with developmental disabilities and knowledge of California’s disability service systems.
The Client Coach & Independent Facilitator will manage a caseload of 15-20 clients. This role involves working directly with people with disabilities and their families to understand their goals, dreams, and needs; advocating on behalf of clients within public service systems; writing detailed reports; overseeing and understanding financial components; delivering high-quality work under pressure to meet critical deadlines; and supporting people with disabilities and their families to manage crises and other life changes.
This is a 35+ hours/week position with the ability to set your own schedule. The position is based remotely (work from home) with occasional travel to client homes. Note that client meetings sometimes take place in the evenings or on weekends.
We have two openings for this position: (1) Los Angeles area, (2) San Diego area
Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional service to each client that meets our high standards, resulting in client satisfaction, client retention, and meaningful progress toward each client’s goals.

Advocate on behalf of clients to reach favorable outcomes with the regional center, service providers, community resources, and other entities as needed.

Guide clients through Person-Centered Planning processes following best practices, resulting in detailed, accurate, and individualized client plans.

Provide ongoing support and coordination to implement clients’ person-centered plans, connecting them to local resources, service providers, and opportunities that align with their goals.

Assist clients in the Self-Determination Program to manage their individual budgets and spending plans, contributing to the management and direction of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars annually.

Respond to all client outreach within one working day.

Submit daily and weekly timesheet and client progress reports, with billable time documented in 15-minute increments.

Independently prioritize tasks and manage time to meet organizational standards.

Represent Guidelight Group in a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s or higher in a related field preferred.

At least five years of professional (work or volunteer) experience in the disability community.

Expertise in developmental disabilities required, with strong knowledge of the specific needs of transition-aged teens and adults and their families preferred.

Experience navigating services in California’s regional center system as well as other disability service systems and generic resources.

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals of diverse races and ethnicities, abilities, languages, and methods of communication.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated time-management skills with ability to manage multiple client relationships at once.

Must have a computer, smartphone, reliable high-speed internet, and a quiet working environment.

Bilingual (Spanish or other threshold languages) preferred.

Familiarity with the Self-Determination Program and the Lanterman Act preferred.

Training in Person-Centered Planning, Person-Centered Thinking, Customized Employment, and/or Independent Facilitation preferred.

We are looking for a highly experienced Director of Client Services to oversee and manage all aspects of our client services department. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in supporting teens and adults with developmental disabilities, experience with person-centered planning and working as an independent facilitator, familiarity navigating the regional center and other disability service systems, and demonstrated experience managing high-performing teams.
The Director of Client Services will manage our team of dedicated Client Coaches & Independent Facilitators, and oversee the delivery of exceptional support to individuals with disabilities. This role involves developing relationships with all Guidelight Group clients; advocating on behalf of clients within public service systems; writing detailed reports; overseeing and understanding budgeting; ensuring the team delivers high-quality work and meets critical deadlines; presenting in professional settings; and enabling the team to support people with disabilities and their families to manage crises and other life changes.

Responsibilities

Lead our team of client services staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.

Strategically evaluate the delivery and effectiveness of all programs and services, identify areas for improvement, and implement improvements.

Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures related to client services, ensuring compliance with best practices and applicable laws and regulations.

Deliver training for all new client services team members.

Establish rapport with clients and their families.

Build strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders.

Represent our agency in advocating for the rights and needs of our clients and the disability community on a systemic level.

Participate in agency strategic planning, budgeting, and implementation processes.

Assist with the development of new products and services.
Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in a related field strongly preferred.

Minimum ten years professional experience in the disability community, with at least five years demonstrated leadership experience.

Expertise in developmental disabilities and disability services, including best practices, service systems, laws, and regulations, including the Self-Determination Program and the Lanterman Act.

Strong understanding of the specific needs of transition-aged teens and adults and their families.
